Joe Morris

Joe Morris is a 24 year old Writer/Director and Producer from Sheffield, England. He has been apart of the filmmaking process for ten years working as a runner on a feature film at the age of 14 and moving on to work in varying production roles. He has produced a five minute abstract film called The Purgatory of Mrs Timmings, which was screened at the Portobello Film Festival. He has also directed various visual art films and the realist fifteen minute short film, Confirmation Day.
He has studied film both at further and higher educational level being awarded an OCN Level 1 and 2 in Media Production and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Screen Arts. He is interested in realist film-making and is developing a new short film as part of a Screen Yorkshire Digital Shorts Scheme.
Joe has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme by Screen Yorkshire with the project Perv
Ed hates being a paedophile but is made to face it by 12 year-old Ryan. Finding solace in his work as a park-keeper, Ed returns to an unhappy family life where he struggles against his feelings. Ashamed but unrelieved by his fantasies Ed makes a decision to pursue Ryan to school but misses him when an old friend spots him. When Ed sees Ryan walking through his park he follows him. Ed cannot act and Ryan suddenly knows what he wants and confronts Ed as a ‘Perv’; once again being left to deal with his feelings, frustrated, guilty and alone.
