Cyrus Mirza’shafa
Cyrus Mirza’shafa is a young director with four short films to date, three of which were shot on Super 16mm Birthday, One Wonderful Monday and Why do you sleep so still. His work has been short listed and screened at international festivals with Birthday currently nominated for a Ffresh award. His fourth short involved a transition to digital for an 18-minute film entitled Last Light, which is the basis for his first feature The cold light of day.
Cyrus currently works as a 1st AD and Location Manager on commercial projects whilst avidly editor music videos and short films. With an ideal to achieve cinematic beauty his influences range from every corner of cinema, from Kurosawa to the Coen brothers, although his own style aspires to achieve the same ideals and patient story telling as Terrance Malick and David Lynch with films that transcend far beyond their screen time.
