Dust
Cai is a kid who lives in a world of Gods and Heroes. But what happens when a fallen hero enters his world – particularly when the fallen hero is his dad?
Told from the point of view of Cai – a full of beans ten-year old – DUST is an intimate portrait of a small boy’s first tentative steps on the road to becoming a man. Exploring themes of masculinity and mortality, absence and loss, it offers a glimpse of a small boy’s journey from innocence to experience, depicting the fun-loving tear-away as he collides with the disappointments and complexities of life and struggles to grasp for the first time the truth of human existence: that we are but dust.
A formally innovative film, DUST offers an impressionistic, visceral vision of life as lived by Cai - the sensory perceptions, the moods, the daydreams, the fleeting fancies, the ebb and flow of a young boy’s world.
