Andrew Brand
After completing a degree in Fine Art, Andrew moved into film.
In 2005 Andrew made his directing debut with To his knees he fell which was commissioned through the UK Film Council’s ‘Digital Shorts’ scheme (East Midlands). It screened at numerous international film festivals and was short-listed for the ‘Fortean Times Award’ at the London Short Film Festival in 2006.
In 2008 Andrew collaborated with sonic artist Alison Ballard to make his experimental animation Wires and Bows which screened at over 30 international film festivals and was short-listed for competition on 4 occasions.
At present Andrew has just completed his 2nd UK Film Council ‘Digital Shorts’ commission entitled Things We Leave Behind, which was part of the Screen East slate for 2009.
Andrew has been shortlisted by Screen East with the project Where there’s smoke.
A couple’s troubled relationship and a stranger’s good intension collide with tragic consequences.
