Steven Spencer

Multi-Award winning Director Steven Spencer has a growing reputation for making distinctive and memorable animated films. He started with his debut the short My Brown Friend, which received its premiere at the London Film Festival in 2007 and won the prestigious RTS Award for best Post Graduate Animation. His unique approach to visual storytelling developed further with his second award winning film Momster. Both films have gone on to receive great success at festivals around the world.
Steven has experience within many areas of the creative industry including Film, Television, Pre-Production Advertising and Computer Games. Clients include the BBC, Sony, BBH, DraftFCB and ScreenWM. This wealth of experience has provided him with the diverse skills necessary to communicate visual messages and stories in a striking and intriguing manner of the highest quality.
Steven has been shortlisted by Screen West Midlands with the project Best
Best tells a moving story based on an iconic footballing genius and his rise to fame.
Being worshiped by millions of adoring fans has its problems. Best stumbles into an addictive love affair with woman and alcohol, a fatal flaw, which eventually leads to his downfall. Set in the swinging 60s this film takes a unique spin on a legend's life story - using a mixture of animation and film to create something highly mesmerizing and original.
