David Storr

Born in Sheffield, David has always had a passion for film. He studied Graphics at Kingston University, specialising in Animation. His final degree project was nominated for a RTS Award. His career began as a broadcast designer at Sky. In 2001, keen to direct live action, David completed a New York Film Academy course in the US. After winning the Nike Young Directors Award in 2002 with the short Every Night I Go Running, he won MTV’s Need to Talk competition in 2003 with Next in Line, and also won a Commonwealth Vision Award with Signs of Freedom. Other directing work includes a commercial and TV idents. David studied in Poland at Mark Travis’s Actor Director Workshop, and has completed NFTS short courses in Directing. David is developing a feature script, Vicinity, after winning Screen Yorkshire’s Spark scheme.
 
David has been shortlisted by Screen Yorkshire with the project For Love, For Honour.
 
For Love, For Honour
An Asian teenage girl runs away with her White teenage boyfriend after becoming the victim of an honour crime. Excitement and idealism soon give way to doubt as the young couple struggle to come to terms with what has happened.
