Laura Degnan
Laura was born and brought up in Stockton-on-Tees. In 2005 she graduated from Oxford University. She has worked in television development roles at Kudos Film and TV, RS Productions and for the BBC.
Laura wrote and directed Blind Eye as part of the 2009 Digital Shorts scheme, which was recently selected by the British Council. She wrote, produced and directed short film The C Word for RS Productions and her plays Old, Young and For Better or Worse were showcased in Newcastle in 2009, the former at Northern Stage and the latter at Live Theatre.
Laura was recently commissioned to write a one-act play for Northumberland Theatre as part of their annual 'Four Play' scheme. She has also set up a business to support emerging creative talent in the North East.
Laura has been selected by Northern Film and Media.
