Sadomasochism for Accountants
by Rosy Barnes
Excel spreadsheets and sequin leotards fly when unassuming Paula recruits the exotic clientele of a South London fetish club to win back her accountant ex. Unassuming Paula may not be setting the world on fire, but she’s happy enough with her quiet life and her boyfriend of eight years, accountant Alan. That is, until the day she comes home to find the upwardly-mobile Belinda moving in. Told (by Belinda) that she’s been dumped for being too boring, Paula decides to ditch her dull image. Putting her best thigh-length leather-booted foot forward, she sets off to her local fetish club ('wrinklies welcome'). There, she meets a host of exotic characters including a transvestite brickie with an anger management problem, a gentle dominatrix who hates bossing people around, and a naked man called Fred. Together, they hatch an audacious plan. Can they teach Paula how to be more exciting to win back her erring ex? Or will Paula realise there are worse things than being boring, when the ruthless Belinda embarks on a sinister plan of her own…?
During She Writes Rosy has been mentored by Deborah Moggach.
