Yvonne Grace
Yvonne initially trained as a Theatre Designer but after gaining a BA hons, worked as an actress for 5 years, touring the country with community and theatre in education plays. Moving to London in the late ‘80’s she initially worked as a runner in lots of commercial film companies before forming The Deptford Wives, a script development company which also led her to direct a series of successful script in hand performances and rehearsed readings of new plays in the theatre upstairs at The Birds Nest pub in Deptford.
Following on from this Yvonne joined Eastenders as a Script Editor and then worked as a development Script Editor in the BBC Drama Department until 1993 when she left to join Granada TV to work on Coronation Street. As well as developing long running drama ideas for ITV she produced My Dad’s A Boring Nerd for CITV which won best children’s comedy of 1998. During this time Yvonne also produced children’s medical drama The Ward and the comedy Knight School for CITV. Going freelance in 1999 Yvonne moved back to London to produce Holby City for BBC1 and continued to develop series and serial formats for the BBC until approached by Carlton TV to Executive Produce Crossroads for ITV.
In the last 2 years she has been writing her own drama serial material for television and designing and leading workshops teaching various aspects of the drama production process from the television perspective.
