Rory Lowe
Rory Lowe studied fine art and fell in love with manipulating digital image and audio, particularly moving image. Whilst working manipulating still images for newspapers He started creating animation for use in club visuals and theatre backgrounds, this lead onto visualization, motion graphics and Visual Effects work. Rory and a friend Will Adams who were members of a digital collective formed a Company Once Were Farmers. OWF have been making all sorts of interesting imagery and eventually what you'd call narrative films for six years now. Rory directs Adverts, live action, animation and combinations of the two. Rory has also made some small scale documentaries. As a studio OWF have also collectively made a couple of short films and are in the process of developing several more as well as a number of children's TV series.
Rory has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme by Screen South with the project Jack
A modern, digital take on the classic fairytale ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, instead of Magic Beans, Jack is given Magic Batteries by a mysterious stranger. Thrown away by his angry mother, Jack's batteries grow into a huge, organic games console. Jack enters the game to take on the consumer Orge in his fairy tale castle. Once a lazy and insecure individual, the trials and tribulations of Jack's magical journey enable him to unlock his hidden talents.
