Gus Hughes
Gus Hughes grew up on the foothills of the Dublin mountains, where he daydreamed out windows during maths class for many years. When finally freed of his academic chains, he set off to paint and play music for a couple of years. He was busy having a great time, when his ma said “cop on” and think about a career. So he went to study animation for a while, hoping his stuff might get on tv. He met lots of great people there but eventually grew curios of distant lands. A giant mechanical bird carried him over the seas to a land called England.
He met some more cats that liked what he liked and ended up with a Bachelor of Arts from the university of Teesside with first class honours. How he achieved this is unknown to this day.
After that, he found a group of generous folk that could offer him mentoring and money to do more silly drawings amounting to a short animated film called Bus Stop Boogaloo.
Gus has been selected onto Digital Shorts by Northern Film and Media with the project Bus Stop Boogaloo
Gus is currently developing his short animated film Bus Stop Boogaloo with the intention of finishing production and post within the next few months. It’s roughly 3 minutes in duration and is animated using a digital cut out technique. He has a fulltime animator called Paulina Brinck and Siobhan Fenton as his producer. He also has talented musician Stephen Hancock onboard the project.
