Sneak Preview of a brand new initiative for Midlands writers!

Wed, 30 Jul 2003

On September 1 The Script Factory and Midlands-based production company Grand Union will announce the full details of an exciting initiative for new and established screenwriters who live in the West Midlands, but we wanted to give you a head start with some early information!

This new training programme, BROAD STREET STORIES, is the first of its kind. Funded by Screen West Midlands and the UK FILM COUNCIL through the Lottery, it will help 16 screenwriters develop a short film idea into a script. The writers of the best 4 short scripts will then be selected to work as part of a team that develops these ideas into a multi-strand feature length script by the late Spring of 2004.

The project will kick off with a Short Film Masterclass with several award-winning short filmmakers on Sunday 21 September 2003 at The Mac in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Full details about the guests who will be joining us for this event, along with a complete description of this new training programme, will be available right here from 1 September.

Don’t call. Don’t write (and for goodness sake, don’t tell anyone we’ve told you yet…) - just bookmark this page and come back on Monday 1 September!
