www.scriptwritermagazine.com
The excellent UK-based bi-monthly Scriptwriter Magazine moved from being a print publication in July 2008, in order to re-emerge as www.twelvepoint.com, a subscription service containing the same quality journalism. Our own Lucy Scher is a regular contributor - read her latest article here.
www.screendaily.com
Screen International's website with a daily film industry news digest, and a searchable database of reviews, news and box office information. An excellent site, but you have to be a paying member to use it. They do offer a fair free trial and it’s definitely worth a punt.
www.variety.com
Like Screen's website, you have to be a member to use Variety's site, but also like Screen, it's much cheaper to join than it is to subscribe to the print journal (though print membership automatically gives you online access). Variety covers the media industries in full, and their film section has a comprehensive searchable database of news, reviews and full box office data. They also create special sites for the (American) Awards season and the big film fests. An invaluable resource for producers particularly. Again it’s a site you pay to use – and again they do offer a good free trial service to get you tempted.
