An essential start for anyone learning to assess feature film scripts and write industry-standard reports over a staggered two day training course.

WRITING THE HEROINE'S STORY with Helen Jacey
A practical and timely two day workshop is designed to help screenwriters and development professionals grapple with the creation of unique, compelling and emotionally complex female protagonists. This course is linked to our Friendly Producers Scheme, with an exclusive opportunity to apply for a one-to-one meeting with Woody Allen's producer, Gareth Wiley.

ADAPTATION FOR DISTRIBUTORS
A new one day training course exploring films adapted from original sources or based on real events, specifically from the stand point of distributors whose job it is to 'sell' those films to the public. FREE for those working in distribution, supported by the Film Distributors' Association.

Our colleagues over at Raindance � the London-based group dedicated to fostering and promoting independent film � regularly run training programmes which we think Script Factory friends might be interested in. Raindance have organised a special rate for us but only for people who book Raindance courses directly via The Script Factory on the upcoming David Freeman�s Beyond Structure. Freeman is an internationally renowned tutor who will explore 200 techniques designed to advance the experienced screenwriter, fiction writer, or development exec to the next level, and shave years off a beginner's learning curve.

TRUTH & FICTION
The ability to structure a screen story from existing material (be it a true story or a novel) is a skill every serious screenwriter should master. This one-day training workshop considers various creative approaches to working with source material plus offers some practical principles to ease the adaptation process. This course is linked to our Friendly Producers Scheme, which aims to introduce the most exciting new writing talent to top UK Producers.

SHE WRITES - Training for emerging women screenwriters
A new programme for women screenwriters co-presented by Birds Eye View and supported by the Skillset Film Skills Fund. The programme, catering for ten emerging women writers, is taking place over the course of 2010, during which time participants will enjoy a residential retreat, attend two specialist workshops, meet with mentors, gain a better understanding of the industry, have exclusive access to industry and training events at the Birds Eye View Film Festival and at our own preview events and masterclasses, and have the opportunity to workshop a feature screenplay project with actors.
