SCENE INSIDERS - INTERNATIONAL TRAINING

SCENE insiders - an essential training programme for European film professionals. Now in its fourth year, the 2007/08 programme will take 2 different groups of students for an intensive programme of workshops, masterclasses, screenings and networking at both Edinburgh and Gothenburg Film Festivals.

THE PROGRAMME
Supported by the MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Community, United International Pictures, and the British Council, SCENE insiders offers a unique opportunity for a select group of filmmakers to take part in a bespoke European training and networking programme.
SCENE insiders is looking to create a pool of skilled, trained and confident developers (whatever other roles each may have) who can effectively assist screenwriters throughout Europe in improving the quality of their scripts. Better scripts make better products, and ones which stand the best chance of reaching audiences around the world.
DATES
The programme is hosted over 3 days during the Gothenburg International Film Festivals.

A unique opportunity for a select group of filmmakers to take part in a bespoke European training and networking programme.
WORKSHOPS
The single most important reason why scripts are rejected or do not turn into successful films is that the script is not good enough. There is no conspiracy! It is that simple.
How do we make scripts better? The SCENE insiders workshop programme starts with the principle that to write a good script the writer needs good development support. SCENE insiders offers unique and original sessions packed with information and creative tools for writers and those that work alongside them in developing stories for the big screen.

Wim Wenders meets SCENE insiders in Warsaw 2005 MASTERCLASSES
Access to The Script Factory's Festival Masterclasses gives the chance to explore the art of creative filmmaking and hone in on some of the most interesting voices in the business. Previous SCENE insiders masterclasses have been given by Mike Leigh, Alexander Payne, Thelma Schoonmaker, Wim Wenders, Anthony Minghella, Saul Zaentz, Nick Cave, Tanya Seghatchian, Mike White and Christopher Hampton amongst many others. NETWORK
SCENE insiders offers exceptional opportunities to network and establish creative relationship with some of Europe's most talented up-coming filmmakers. After the programme, everyone involved in SCENE insiders has access to The Network - an online site designed to help sustain relationships already established on the programme and to help meet potential new collaborators from across Europe.
It also provides training notes, event transcripts, a forum for debate and an ever-growing database of trained film professionals with a wide spectrum of experience.
PARTICIPANTS
SCENE insiders brings together some of Europe's most promising film professionals. If you are a producer, director, writer, sales agent, distributor, script reader, script editor, marketing executive or film educator then this is the course for you.
25 participants are invited to each of the programmes.
