In 1994, she established Miramax Films Australasian office and directed Miramax’s film development, production and acquisitions activities in the region alongside the television and publishing arms of the company in this region for over a decade. In 2001 she successfully launched Miramax’s distribution operation in Australia and New Zealand with Oscar-nominated In the Bedroom and Tarantino’s 2 volume Kill Bill.
Prior to Miramax, Victoria Treole worked as a Programming and Channel Development Consultant for the Eureka Channel for the PayTV consortium Australian Information Media from 1993-1995. From 1989–1993 she worked at the Australian Film Commission, first as Manager International Market Development and then as Executive Creative Affairs directing the AFC’s development and production investments.
Victoria joins The Script Factory for her second annual Boot Camp Cannes, London in May 2007. Boot Camp Cannes is an international festival and market programme designed to equip independent producers with the resources to successfully negotiate their way though the confusing and often intimidating world of international film business. The Boot Camp approach is to enable emerging filmmakers to gain the maximum benefit from the international film events that they attend.
