Olivia Trench
After graduating in French and Italian from Bristol University in 1995, Olivia worked with director, Vito Rocco at King Key Movies on Anglia TV’s First Take series for new filmmakers and on Vito’s celebrated film, Ciao Mama. Next was assisting director, Des McAnuff on Cousin Bette (Sarah Radcliffe Productions/Fox Searchlight) before a short stint in feature film casting. From 1997 – 2000 Olivia ran the office of TOC Films, the London outpost of Le Studio Canal Plus where she scouted British, American and Australian feature films for finance and development. She then moved into television drama and spent the next few years script-editing at Carlton Television, Endemol and then Shine where she story-edited Sugar Rush. Finally, she was allowed to learn the precious secrets of why things are and are not commissioned when she joined BBC Independent Drama Commissioning. There she worked on various projects from current brands such as Spooks and Robin Hood to new initiatives such as a horror strand and BBC3 teen drama via singles like Aftersun and Coming Down The Mountain. On leaving the BBC she joined Blast! Films as Head of Drama Development, and has recently moved to become Drama Development Executive for Silver River Productions.
