Four Weddings and a Funeral

Duncan Kenworthy is the producer responsible for three of the most successful British films of all time: Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Notting Hill (1999) and Love Actually (2003). All written by Richard Curtis, together the three films have taken c$900 million at the worldwide box office.
 
Duncan’s early career was in television, where he worked on Sesame Street internationally before joining Jim Henson in London to be associate producer of The Dark Crystal (82), co-creator and producer of Fraggle Rock (83-87) and of Anthony Minghella’s Storyteller (88) and Greek Myths (90) series. As an independent he subsequently produced a mini-series of Gulliver's Travels (96) and the feature films Lawn Dogs (97), and The Parole Officer (01).
 
He is currently in pre-production on The Eagle of the Ninth, an adaptation of Rosemary Sutcliff’s novel about a young Roman soldier, which will be directed by Kevin Macdonald (State Of Play).
 
Duncan has received seven BAFTA and three Emmy nominations, as well as being nominated for an Oscar for Four Weddings…. He was made an O.B.E. in 1999 for services to film, and served as Chairman of BAFTA until 2008.
