Alan Amin
In 2006, Alan founded the Kurdish Creative Film Centre, Manchester, UK. KCFC is dedicated to the provision and development of film skills within the refugee and asylum seeker communities; offering them a voice whereby they may record their experiences and express their cultural identities, and the necessary skill-sets to find a creative and productive place in society. KCFC is particularly concerned to aid the region’s large Kurdish community, and to help communicate the Kurdish people’s cultural history and personal stories to the larger population. It began as the World Theatre Company in 2003, and was re-branded in 2006 to reflect an increased focus on film work.
Alan has been actively working on community projects in theatre and film since the 1980’s.
Alan Amin has been selected by North West Vision and Media with the project A Journey Through Night.
Mirko and Ranja, two young brothers fleeing a war are guided through the dangers of the night and into a place of safety by the spirit of their Father.
