Karen’s ambitions in her own words are to: “Create work that mixes the organic crafted feel of traditional animating techniques with the use of live action footage is the focus of my work. The telling of modern stories and themes with this tactile animation style creates quixotic oppositions, where old and new combine to push their possibilities further.
Style is not the only facet to my work, I am also strongly centered around core themes and a more allegorical, symbolic way of telling a familiar story. I believe in creating films that allow the audience to read and enjoy what they see on as many different levels as possible.”
