The success of all cinematic love stories depends on the audience believing that the characters should be together. Our Diploma in Script Development, taught in partnership with the NFTS, is currently training the next generation of script developers. This year's students have been asked to explore the various ways to get audiences on-side, looking at a range of filmic love stories. Student Charlotte Biermann came up trumps.

Help raise 'Millions' for World AIDS Day

Our friends at Positive East are hosting a very special event on Sunday 4th December with Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle. A screening of his 2004 hit film, Millions will be followed by a Q&A chaired by BBC Radio 2's Simon Mayo and rounded off with a drinks reception.

World Class Screenwriters take the BAFTA/ BFI Stage

We are delighted to announce that we will again be joining BAFTA and the BFI as Media Partner for the brilliant Screenwriters' Lecture Series. Seven extraordinary evenings with internationally celebrated screenwriters will take place at BAFTA and BFI Southbank in September. It all kicks off on September 13 with William Gladiator Nicholson.

Second Light Screenwriting Lab Industry Guests Announced

First Light, who fund and support film projects with young people throughout the UK, and The Script Factory have teamed up to offer a unique screenwriting LAB. The Second Light Screenwriting LAB aims to support aspiring scriptwriters, from backgrounds currently under-represented within the film industry, in learning the craft of screenwriting.

The Writer's Voice
