Kara’s film and TV writing work includes: Jim Jam & Sunny (new series for ITV / Entertainment Rights – first airs December 2006), Lolapalooza, a greenlit feature in development with Working Title Films (WT2); 22 episodes of Boo! Series One and Two (BBC). Feature films in development include: Irielicious (a Jamaican comedy drama) and Betty Boxill (teen romantic comedy).
Theatre and Radio 4 credits include: Letting Yourself Go (White Open Spaces) is having a 3 week run in October 2006 at Soho Theatre, London. Kevin And Roy was optioned by the BBC as part of their New Writers Scheme, and Kara's plays, Mami, Papi, Mial And Me, The Old Girl's Tale, The Politician's Tale, The Sanctuary / Cheese Makes You Dream (starring Timothy Spall) and Undine (winner of the BBC Black Broadcast Award) were broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Hyacinth Blue, had a four-week run at the Lyric Hammersmith and was short listed for the 33rd John Whiting Award. Tamagotchi Heaven and Undine were performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Her film directing credits include: Nobody The Great (2006 – medium length feature); short films: Cheese Makes You Dream (winner of Hitchcock Award and shortlisted for BBC’s New Filmmaker award - film festivals inc.: London, Montreal, Sao Paulo, LA.; Sold to BBC, HBO), Elephant Palm Tree (funded by PULSE Film London / UK Film Council - film festivals inc.: Sundance, London) and How to Make Friends (film festivals inc.: Montreal, Palm Springs, Berlin, Tribeca; sold to HBO).

In Spring 2005, Kara made a trip to Berlin where her second short How to Make Friends (a painfully, sweet look at childhood) screened in the Berlinale. More on making friends at www.howtomakefriendsmovie.com
Kara’s most recent film, Nobody The Great, was completed in September 2006. When terrorists trick their way into Jack and Basil's flat, on the evening of their hot date with two gorgeous sisters, the boys decide to take matters into their own hands... This dark comedy is an irreverent, allegorical tale inspired by the Stanford Prison Experiment and Abu Ghraib. www.nobodythegreat.com
