Father August

'He's a priest and she’s a good girl… or so they say!'

A romantic comedy inspired by the Vatican’s yearly calendar of hot looking trainee priests, the Calendario Romano.

When smug womanizer Rocco Percorelli witnesses a murder outside his family’s deli and the police safe house is anything but, his mother - the indomitable Sicilian Angelina - decides he’s safer in God’s hands, packing him off to the seminary in Chelsea run by family friend Father Alexander. Here Rocco’s safety is compromised when he’s accidentally included in the annual Vatican calendar of young priests the Calendario Romano as Father August. His dangerous high profile is compounded when he starts a platonic but intense relationship with vulnerable Irish wannabe actress Kelly O'Hara working as a pole dancer at the killer’s club.

As the murderer's net closes in, Kelly’s life gets harder and she ends up at the homeless shelter run by the priests. There - ostensibly rehearsing a scene for Kelly’s forthcoming audition - Rocco and Kelly kiss. Stricken to have compromised her friend’s faith, the tables are turned when Kelly realises – after confessing her most painful secrets and anxieties – that he’s a liar. He’s not a priest after all. Betrayed Kelly can’t forgive and their relationship explodes but now on the run, they will have to reconcile their differences if they’re going to stay alive.

During She Writes Tracy has been mentored by Liz Karlsen.
