Alison has a substantial track record in television drama production as an award-winning script editor, producer and executive producer for the major broadcasters.
 
After graduating in Medieval and Modern History, Alison failed the Civil Service entrance examination and realised that it was her years of taking student shows to the Edinburgh Fringe which pointed the way forward. After getting a foot in the door at the BBC as a production secretary, Alison became an Assistant Director for BBC Drama Films, working with writers Michael Palin, David Kane and Ted Tally, producers Kenith Trodd, Innes Lloyd and Ruth Caleb, and directors John Madden, Adrian Shergold, and Alan Clarke.
 
Alison started her script editing career as trainee script editor on the fourth series of Casualty, and the following year her work as series script editor was recognized when the series won the RTS award for Best Drama Series.
 
Her credits as Producer include Medics for Granada Productions, Silent Witness for BBC1, The Stepfather for ITV Productions, and Babyfather for BBC2, which was awarded the Race in Media Award for Best Drama in 2002. Her most recent production is Boy Meets Girl which transmitted on ITV in May 2009.
 
As an Executive Producer at the BBC, Alison was responsible for the BAFTA nominated Undercover Heart by Peter Bowker, the police series City Central for BBC Drama and The Echo, by Kevin Hood and Minette Walters.
 
Alison is a Mentor and Guest Tutor for the MA in Television Scriptwriting at de Montfort University, and has taught script reading, script editing and aspects of television production for the BBC and the Arvon Foundation.
