About Us

Sandy Lieberson

Sandy is a senior figure in the international film industry. His original career was as an agent representing clients ranging from Sergio Leone and Peter Sellers to Lindsay Anderson before he moved into production producing his first feature, Performance, with Donald Cammell & Nicolas Roeg. David Puttnam joined Sandy’s company, Goodtime Enterprises, in the 70’s and, in addition to specialist film distribution, the pair produced numerous iconic feature films and documentaries together including That’ll Be The Day, Bugsy Malone, and Stardust, and produced for directors ranging from Jacques Demy and Richard Loncraine to Ken Russell. During this time, Sandy also produced Terry Gilliam’s Jabberwocky.
 
Sandy left the world of independent production to take the roles of VP International Production and then President Worldwide Production at 20th Century Fox, supervising productions including Empire Strikes Back, Alien, Herzog’s Nosferatu, Kurasawa’s Kagamusha and Chariots of Fire.
 
A spell at The Ladd Company supervising Blade Runner, Once Upon A Time in America and Fred Zinneman’s Five Days One Summer was followed by 2 years at Goldcrest supervising Dance with A Stranger, The Mission and Room with a View was followed by a return to indie production and included Stars and Bars, and Rita, Sue and Bob Too. A move to MGM saw him supervising Russia House, Chris Menges’ Criss Cross, Liebestraum and Thelma & Louise.
 
Recently Sandy has moved into strategic positions in the UK’s film industry including devising the Producer’s course for the NFTS, organising the Berlin Talent Campus and becoming the chair of Film London.
 

Sandy is taking part in The Script Factory's Friendly Producer's Scheme during 2007.
