Marion Pilowsky
A partner in Priority Pictures, a feature film production company which she formed in July of 2004 together with Colin Leventhal, Marion Pilowksy has recently produced The All Together with Martin Freeman and Danny Dyer (LionsGateUK), Nina’s Heavenly Delights (Scion/Priority) with Art Malik and Laura Fraser and the short film Stingray, with Lucy Punch and Dominic West.
Priority are currently working on a number of projects including British comedy, The Club directed by multi BAFTA-winning Brian Hill and written by Golden Globe-nominated Peter Bowker. In development is Relish, the life of celebrity Victorian chef Alexis Soya written by Ruth Cowan and to be adapted by Deborah Moggach. Mercury 13, which Priority are developing with Focus Features and written by Helen Crowley, is the story of the NASA trained female astronauts at the height of the Russian/American space race.
Prior to this, Pilowsky was Head of International Production for Myriad Pictures Ltd, where she produced and executive produced Myriad’s international independent co-productions including Marc Evans’ Trauma, The River King starring Ed Burns and Jennifer Ehle, Piccadilly Jim starring Sam Rockwell, and Istvan Szabo’s Being Julia, starring Annette Bening and Jeremy Irons.
Before joining Myriad, Pilowsky was Head of Acquisitions and Development for UIP (United International Pictures), where she was responsible for worldwide third party acquisitions. Pilowsky was also responsible for UIP initiatives across Europe, including the Prix Short Film Prize for the European Film Academy and The Script Factory’s own UIP-sponsored SCENE programme of Masterclasses in London, Berlin, Rio and Edinburgh. Pilowsky was instrumental in the construction of the Marketing and Distribution 2000 programme now run annually with the Media Business School based in Rhonda, Spain.
Marion is one of The Script Factory's Board Members - and is taking part in The Script Factory's Friendly Producer's Scheme during 2007.
