Jane started her career as a performer up until 2003 when she won an award for ‘best direction’ for her theatrical play Pay Day.

Her springboard into filmmaking came when she was fortunate to write and direct Together Alone as part of the Digital Shorts 2004 scheme. It has been screened globally with brilliant audience response and critical praise.

Since then she has worked on several ‘First Light’ projects and numerous projects for ‘Storymakers TV’. Most recently Paper Trail a film about recycling made for The Co-operative. She has also worked on three film projects for Creative Partnerships and was successful in bringing Saatchi and Saatchi onboard to mentor and support one of the projects.

Jane has since gone on to make several self funded shorts and her most recent work Saints and Whores was recognised by legendary filmmaker Larry Clark who said, “It was brave personal & sincere”.

Jane has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme with the project SINK OR SWIM

“As long as the church tower stands there will always be witches living in Canewdon”.

Inside an old run down house in the quiet village of Canewdon (Essex), ROSE an elderly lady is confronted with a ‘bare white bum’ at her window. The moony culprit ADAM runs off laughing raucously with his mates MARK and KELLY.

Hanging out in the church cemetery the bored teenager’s discuss the legend that states, “As long as the church tower stands there will always be witches in Canewdon”. Convinced that Rose is a witch they devise a plan to find out.

However, relationships amongst the group undergo radical changes and only two of them have the nerve to go ahead with the plan.

Adam and Mark manage to push Rose into a pond hidden in the overgrown garden and she disappears beneath the murky water. The fact she has drowned means she was not a witch and they start to blame one another. Petrified they leave the scene of the crime and come face to face with Rose…
