Shooting People's Screenwriters Network
The Script Factory is a huge fan of Shooting People: an online filmmaking community which organises bulletins for filmmakers across the UK and US ![]()

This site features a searchable database of 1000’s of downloadable screenplays; an annual screenwriting competition; and most impressively, a brand new Writers’ Database. The Database is the only compressive database of its kind...still a work in progress, but already it lists the submission guidelines for over 400 US-based production & management companies, literary agencies, independent producers and creative executives searching for new material. Along with contact information, it lists what types of projects they are looking for, and who to contact at each company - a brilliant resource for UK-based writers wanting to submit work to companies in the US.

Another great site for downloading film scripts - and on this one they are in their original form! This site features a 'script of the day' on their home page, and a A-Z list of all the others they have available. In many cases, they have multiple drafts of the same screenplay so you can compare and contrast to get a glimpse into the development process of your favourite films...a fantastic screenwriters resource!

Extensive database of scripts and transcripts of feature films both produced and unproduced available to view and print. Collates its library from a number of online databases so covers scripts from classics like Chinatown to the latest releases such as Minority Report. Clearly states if it is a shooting script or transcript and occasionally holds early drafts of new classics such as Three Kings and American Beauty. Has sections specifically for TV and Radio scripts and a good links section.

If you want to know more about writing screenplays you can download your favourite film screenplays here. This is a real film fansite and does much of the trawling for you for the latest and most authentic scripts for films from Hollywood classics to cult classics.

Large movie script database. The site also contains a database of screenwriters and interviews with screenwriters. Prides itself on being the first to have many scripts online and has a section dedicated to screenwriters reviewing the latest scripts doing the rounds of Hollywood.

The Internet Movie Script Database is a useful free resource with a very big library of scripts, both contemporary and classic, available for download (everything from The Panic Room and Troy, to 2001 and Casablanca. The scripts themselves are of variable quality – some are stored as PDFs which download quickly and look like the real thing while others are more text versions of something found on the internet. This is definitely worth a look.

The Virtual Studio section of this website is a submission destination and collaboration tool for filmmakers — a community where artists can submit and workshop original work and where producers can make movies using built-in production tools. Membership is free but you have to sign up before gaining access to the virtual development section and area dedicated to new screenwriters.

New site and offshoot of Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti’s Triggerstreet production company. If scripts get into the sites’ top 10 they automatically enter into a 90 day fisrt-look agreement with Triggerstreet. A new site which needs time to develop but a good source of reviewing unproduced scripts.
