Angeli Macfarlane
Angeli is a feature film script editor whose most recent work was on the screenplay of Gabriel Range’s much-publicised first feature Death Of A President and winner of International Emmy 2007. Angeli now works with Gabriel at The Borough Film Company as Head of Development. Their slate includes a feature with Paramount and several features and drama/docs at C4, a drama with National Geographic, and a thriller with the Film Agency for Wales.
Angeli also works as a freelance script editor and is currently developing a road movie with writer David Quantick and the second feature from writer Helen Cross (My Summer Of Love, dir. Pawel Pawlikowski). She also develops and mentors for Screen WM and EM Media. She was also responsible for developing Soft by Simon Ellis, the winner of Best European Short at Edinburgh 2007.
Prior to her freelance career, Angeli ran a writer’s programme with Pathé UK to make first features with British writers and directors; she subsequently ran a new director’s programme for FilmFour and executive produced six short films by new talent for the channel. She was also Head of Development for First Film Foundation and ran a Kodak sponsored pan-European fund, which oversaw production of many European first features.
Angeli also trains writers and script developers: she is Course Tutor on The Script Factory & NFTS Post Graduate diploma in Script Development and Advisor to the London Film Academy for its screenwriting programme.
