Finola Dwyer
Finola is a producer and the MD of Finola Dwyer Productions.
Since re-locating to the UK from New Zealand in the early 90’s, Finola Dwyer’s producer credits have included Iain Softley's award-winning debut feature Backbeat, starring Stephen Dorff and Ian Hart; Stephan Elliott's cult favourite Welcome to Woop Woop; Chris Menges' The Lost Son, starring Daniel Auteuil and Nastassja Kinski; Sandra Goldbacher's BAFTA-nominated Me Without You, starring Anna Friel and Michelle Williams; Antonia Bird's EMMY-nominated TV film for C4/HBO The Hamburg Cell; and Stephen Woolley's feature debut Stoned, starring Leo Gregory and Paddy Considine. Finola most recently produced Tsunami: The Aftermath by Abi Morgan, for HBO/BBC, directed by Bharat Nalluri, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tim Roth, Sophie Okonedo and Toni Collette. Tsunami (broadcast worldwide in Nov/Dec 2006) was nominated for three Golden Globes. Finola is currently producing An Education by Nick Hornby and is developing Silverback with Pierce Brosnan’s company Irish Dream Time.
She has recently produced the theatre production of Elling whch opened at the Bush Theatre with John Simm in the lead role and transfers to the West End's Trafalgar Studios in July 2007.
Finola became a producer taking part in our Friendly Producers Scheme in Summer 2007.
