Latest from Peter Morgan - Frost/Nixon

Co-presented by The Script Factory & The National Film and Television School in partnership with The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival.

Widely hailed as one of Britain's most talented screenwriters, Peter Morgan has a remarkable gift for re-imagining recent history into utterly compelling drama, and shows a fearless approach to writing about major public figures. He's one of only a handful of writers to gain accolades for his work in the three dramatic media of cinema, stage and TV, including five BAFTA awards, an Emmy and a Golden Globe, plus an Academy Award nomination.

A fascinating theme running through all of Morgan's work is the 'pas de deux' dynamic that he creates between his main characters. This is evident in his depictions of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in TV drama The Deal; the Prime Minister and her Majesty in The Queen; and James McAvoy's fictional doctor against Forest Whitaker's Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland. Morgan takes this motif to the next level in the LFF’s Opening Night Gala Frost/Nixon. The power play and intellectual sparring that occurs between Michael Sheen's David Frost and Frank Langella's Richard Nixon is nothing short of brilliant.

We are delighted that such a major talent as Peter Morgan has agreed to join us for a conversation with the writer, broadcaster and filmmaker Jonathan Myerson.
