Nicky Lianos
Nicky Lianos studied film and television in Australia and when she graduated she moved to London. There she worked as a freelance Editor for the Disney and Discovery Channels and the award winning BBC children's series KOALA BROTHERS as a Camera Operator. In 2004 she founded FILM OR DIE PRODUCTIONS and made A HARTLEY STORY (starring Kathryn Pogson of Brazil, Breakfast on Pluto and Millions). She teamed up with companies such as Pinewood Studios, The Moving Picture Company, Abbey Road Studios, Clear and Jellyfish Pictures, who supported the project throughout. The film then went on to play at 26 film festivals throughout the world including Brief Encounters, Clermont Ferrand and The East End Film Festival where it won The Audience and Best film award. It was later picked up by Dazzle Films and sold to various programmers including Movieola in Canada. Since then she has made various short films including a music video for Popular Finnish Band Islaja and she is now in development with Liberty Films on her first feature, a children's horror movie.
Nicky has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme with the project Monsters and Rabbits
Monsters and Rabbits is a short (10 minute) live action film about a boy called Michael who has an imaginary smoking/drinking monster friend called Kenny. When Michael reaches out to make friends with a real life girl, Kenny gets jealous.
