Lab Ky Mo
LAB KY MO is a writer/director from Belfast, Northern Ireland who has shot short films in L.A., Hong Kong, London & Belfast. His debut feature film NINE DEAD GAY GUYS starred Steven Berkoff, and won the Audience award at the Montreal International Comedy Film Festival as well as the Best Film award at Dublin L&G Film Festival, and has been released in both the UK and the US. Lab also directs commercials and is currently in development with his second feature film GOLDFISHING.
Lab has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme with the project Granny’s Ghost
BILLY - an 8-year old Chinese boy born and bred in Belfast - is visited by his GRANNY from Hong Kong. She has not come alone; she unwittingly brings with her a GHOST - a Chinese Ghost - or so BILLY believes. BILLY’s family embark on a series of ridiculous schemes to get rid of GRANNY’s unwelcome GHOST – all of which fail miserably. It transpires that the GHOST has not come from Hong Kong but Is in fact BILLY’s dead mother who wants to communicate with her son.
