Adult Chat is a short film about the way British students in the last decade have been abandoned to a life of debt and worry in order to get a decent degree. EMMA has been lured into prostitution by a pimp well versed in the nature of student debt. In escaping from this world of sexual humiliation and harm EMMA gets home to find her mother is trapped in another form of exploitation. Adult Chat deals with a serious and real subject, but stitched into the very fabric of the film is the real love between a mother and daughter. It’s a story of poignant humour as well as the heart-breaking realisation that life can be really cruel sometimes...
