Sarmad Masud
Sarmad studied film at the Hull school of Art & Design way back when. He has since worked on numerous projects, shorts, features and documentaries. He has recently returned from Pakistan where he wrote and directed another short and would quite like to go back and make a longer film, with a bigger budget, a bigger crew, and what the hell may even throw in a song and a dance!
Sarmad has been selected onto Digital Shorts EM-Media with the project Half a Cup
An eclectic comedy drama, set deep in the Asian community you thought you knew. Two friends are on a mission to re unite the cast of an old Asian play for one last hurrah. They've promised the return of a former stage great but finding him won’t be easy. Cornershop guys, taxi drivers, even guys with beards all stereo types we are comfortable with, but those same faces once performed in front of hundreds, for one night only they're back, with a song & a dance, performing live at Nottingham's very own Pakistani community center.
