“We have been writing together for two years now focusing on short film scripts and a feature length script. Prior to this we both wrote separately, with Michael concentrating on TV scripts and shorts and Iain concentrating on comic book scripts. Michael is currently studying part-time for an MA in Creative Writing while Iain is a graduate of Media Production, specialising throughout his course on screenwriting.
We are now looking to pursuer a career as a screenwriting partnership.”

The Cost of Living tells the story of man who hires a hitman – to kill himself.
Set entirely in a phone box as he makes the most important call of his life, the piece is dialogue led with the conversation taking the form of a business call, as the matter-of-fact killer calmly discusses the arrangements with the visibly troubled customer.
The audience soon learn that the target of the killing is the customer himself, although the hitman remains unaware. This adds a grimly comic yet poignant edge to the conversation as the customer tries to ensure the victim won’t suffer, whilst facing the reality of how little his life is actually worth.
