Ed Lilly

Ed is a BAFTA and Royal Television Society-nominated Director having produced and directed a number of short films and music promos. Ed’s most recent short film Three Little Words is currently playing in 214 Cinemas nationwide after being shortlisted in the 2009 Virgin Media Shorts competition. In 2008 his one minute film United Youth? was aired on BBC Northwest Tonight and eventually nominated at the BAFTAs as part of the ’60 Seconds of Fame’ award.
In 2009 Ed produced and directed, through his own production company Blind Aura Pictures, a twenty minute anti-knife crime drama for Manchester City Council and an online NOKIA viral for their ‘Comes with Music’ handset. After Eight also screened as part of the Official Selection at Encounters 2009 and Ed, along with his company Blind Aura Pictures, have recently been commissioned by Northwest Vision and Media for their next short Greasy Spoon, as part of the Green Shoots funding scheme.
Ed has been shortlisted by Northwest Vision for his project The Hive.
The Hive is the heart-warming tale of two brothers who, after struggling to find the importance of family, re-discover their relationship when a dangerous and unusual Beehive heist attempt leaves both of them more than just stung. Set in the current agricultural issue of the rising price of honey and value of Beehives, The Hive sets out to prove that some things are always worth fighting for.
