Small Talk is a story about communication and imagination, told via a mute girl's quest to regain her widowed father's imagination. Eva is a ten-year-old mute who has been charged with communicating with the outside world for her agoraphobic dad using a bulky tape-deck which hangs around her neck. When a friendly, female neighbour invites them to a 'meet and greet' for the tower block, Eva sees an opportunity to play cupid. Mustering all the bravery she can, she enters a low-fi fantasy world of her own imagining in order to complete her quest.
