Sandra has been shorlisted by South West Screen for her project Love at First Sight.

Love at First Sight was inspired by a respect for older people and a desire to challenge the bizarre but widely held belief that old people are somehow too old to fall in love. The piece is also an acknowledgement of a fear of losing one's memory and of facing up to a life threatening illness - Alzheimer's disease.

Love At First Sight is a comedy. We think comedy is the most effective way of drawing the audience in and making them engage with the themes of this film, although its message is ultimately serious. We're aiming to make a film that has the widest possible appeal: a comedy with a message, aimed at young and old. The intention is to move, to entertain, to encourage a more positive view of older people - especially of those suffering from dementia.
