He wrote oil industry conspiracy thriller A Second to Midnight (2x60 min) for Radio 4 and had horror feature Smoke, a project that received development funding from North West Vision and Media, optioned by Golden Bear nominated SMK (Berlin).
Andy has written and directed the short film Hello, Spaceboy, a winner at the EIFF (Paris), and has just been commissioned again by the BBC to write The Man Who Jumped From Space (45 min); a dramatic account of Col. Joe Kittenger's record breaking free-fall from the edge of the stratosphere. As well as hoping to develop The Hive further, he's also currently writing Close to the Edge, a new feature script for Finite Productions based upon the true accounts of participants who've experienced homelessness.
Andy has been shortlisted by North West Vision and Media with his project The Hive.
The Hive
As bees disappear, the black-market for honey has become a golden opportunity. For dodgy Salford lad and hive thief LEWIS (17), he knows that his next score means enough to rent a place of his own and become king bee of his own destiny. But after his regular partner-in-crime drops out of the planned Cheshire bust, he's going to need another pair of hands. With no-one else to turn to, he approaches sensible little brother JAKE (14). Jake agrees to take part on one condition. Lewis must vow to stay at home and help him look after their wayward mother - the very person Lewis wants to escape. But as they embark on a dangerous dawn raid built on a false promise, Lewis is about to learn the true value of sticking together.
