Emma Cole
Emma Cole is a writer, musician and a trained psychotherapist. Through her work, she has been fortunate enough to get a good understanding into human emotions and it is this attribute she brings to her writing. This also gave her the opportunity to write a monthly column for a national slimming magazine. Now, she is currently writing her second novel and is also co-writing and developing a series of film projects with her writing partner, Cherry Williams and Director Edward Loades. Emma also co-writes (as a lyricist) and performs her own music - one piece was used by Microsoft for the launch of Vista in Australia. She has co-written songs with many composers over the years and brings this experience and talent to the film making process. Emma also has extensive PR and Marketing skills having worked as a PR Consultant for many years.
Emma has been shortlisted by Screen West Midlands with the project Eve.
Eve is the story of one woman's dangerous obsession with another. Emotionally unstable as a child and self loathing in adulthood, Eve becomes fixated with her work colleague Sarah. Sarah appears to be the opposite of Eve and is everything Eve aspires to. Pushing the boundaries of her obsession to the limits, Eve takes more risks to get closer to Sarah believing that the closer she can get, the more like Sarah she will become.However, Sarah isn't what she appears. Manipulative and with a violent edge, Sarah confronts the naive and vulnerable Eve one night and subjects her to a terrifying assault. To be filmed in black and white, Eve is a very stylized film, inspired by the work of Man Ray and Cecil Beaton and reminiscent of film noir and classic films of the 30s and 40s.
