LYNDA WILLIAMS
Lynda has a Master's degree in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and won the highly acclaimed Skillset Bursary Award for New Scriptwriters in 2006. Her TV researcher credits include Style Trial (BBC1) and Dispatches (C4). She has worked as a barmaid and teacher in Spain and USA and on many community projects. Lynda is also a Mum. Lynda's short, Grace, was commissioned by Screen Eas in 2008/2009 as part of Digital Shorts and will be screened internationally in 2010. She finds stories in everyday situations and writes with compassion and humour, not shying away from harsh issues. Lynda is am co-writer of a feature screenplay called Solid which is currently with US producers and is developing two feature-length screenplays.
Lynda has been commissioned by Screen East with the project Goodbye Kate.
Goodbye Kate
Joe is ready to move on with his life, but before he can he has to find and confront the absent mother of his child. Joe fathered a child at 16. The mother of the child, Kate, chose not to be a part of their daughter Evie's life. Joe has found some stability in his life and plans to get married. Evie, 6, has never met her mother and as the wedding day approaches, Joe feels he must confront Kate and allow mother and daughter to meet. Joe cannot rest and move forward without resolving unanswered questions from his past. Did Kate regret her decision? Does she want to be in her daughter's life? Should Kate know that Evie will have a new mother figure? Joe arranges the meeting, taking Evie with him, but does he find the answers he is looking for?
