Matt Howling

Matt Howling is a former award-winning journalist, published author and scriptwriter with a number of projects produced and in development. As well as publishing non-fiction books, he has written comedy for BBC Radio shows such as Parsons and Naylor's Pull-Out Sections, featuring Henry Naylor and Mock The Week's Andy Parsons, and BBC Scotland's Watson's Wind-Up. His first radio play, The First Time, aired on BBC Radio in 2007. He also worked as writer and executive producer on feature-length comedy Dogberry & Bob, which won the People's Choice Award at The End Of The Pier International Film Festival. This is the first time he has been involved with DV Shorts.
 
Matt has been shortlisted by EM Media with the project Unspoken.
 
Unspoken is a 15-minute short film. This challenging, moving and, at times, unsettling project tells the story of a young and vulnerable female immigrant, named Tihana, working in a hotel, whose tumultuous relationship with a work colleague leads her to commit a series of unusual, and at times disturbing acts, culminating in a heart-breaking revelation about her troubled past.
