The Digital Shorts scheme is an annual nationwide programme initiated by the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund, with each region adding its own specific twist on the scheme as a whole. The schemes are based in England and Scotland and are largely operated by the Regional Screen Agencies, plus there is one extra scheme which looks to give additional support to filmmakers from the UK's black and minority ethnic communities.
 
The scheme is overseen by Lifesize Pictures.
 
All the schemes have now been allocated for 20007/08. For details on how to apply to make a Digital Short in your area next year, please contact the appropriate organisation listed below.



 
UK-WIDE

The Film London-run Pulse scheme invites applicants to make one of 5 films with a budget ranging from £2,500 - £12,000 and between 1 and 15 minutes in length.

North West Vision Media' invited Digital Shorts applicants to enter into a shortlisting process before making a £12k digi short.

SCOTLAND

shortcuts is a nationwide scheme for Scotland, operated by Glasgow's Media Access Centre inviting 20 ideas for drama, documentary and animation short films of up to 15mins to be long-listed and offered a weekend workshop, before a shortlist of projects then went into script development and commission.
