She initially pursued a career in business, earning an MBA from the University of Michigan and working as a product manager in Microsoft Corp's entertainment division. Geetika recently returned to her creative roots, completing her first screenplay in 2004, a biopic about the life of novelist Jane Austen. JANE won a number of awards in the US, including ScriptPIMP's 2004 grand prize and silver prize in the PAGE International Screenwriting Competition before being optioned by First Serve Entertainment. When Sony Pictures announced a competing project, Geetika adapted her screenplay for the stage. Geetika is also in the process of directing two short films: SMOOTH? penned by Andrew Berhardt and NO MATTER WHAT, co-written by Geetika and Sian Hirst. The NO MATTER WHAT team was recently funded for training by B3 Media and the UK Film Council.
Geetika's newest feature script, ANGELS IN THE BULLRING is a coming-of-age comedy/drama about a Muslim girl who dreams of being a rock star. ANGELS IN THE BULLRING has already attracted investment interest.
