The Script Factory runs a range of training programmes across the UK for writers, and people who work with writers, often in partnership with national agencies.

Script Development 101
A brand new course for readers and producers who are looking to move into a script development role. An opportunity to hone your story analysis skills and explore how to nurture creative relationships with writers.

Screenwriting UK
A two-day training programme specifically for writers who are trying to break into the UK film industry. Aiming to equip participants with the skills to write an impressive first draft and the inside knowledge that can get it in front of those that count. This course is also linked to our Friendly Producers Scheme, which aims to introduce the most exciting new writing talent to top UK Producers.

The Treatment Room
An intensely practical course designed to demystify the function of treatments in the UK film industry. Participants will be coached through the process of writing a compelling prose document which effectively sells their current screenplay idea. This is a great programme through which to refine a story idea and work constructively with a small group of fellow writers. This course is also linked to our Friendly Producers Scheme, which aims to introduce the most exciting new writing talent to top UK Producers.

Script Reading Training for Distributors
The return of our annual series of training sessions designed exclusively for those working in distribution, supported by the FDA.

Genre Season
This November sees the welcome return of our Genre Season. A series of practical one-day workshops designed to help writes, developers and producers grapple with the specific story demands of their chosen genre.

Writing Radio Drama
A welcome repeat for this workshop intended to illuminate the craft and industry of radio drama for those that usually think ‘film’ when they think storytelling.
